Jasmine Haghighatian Simmons, a Texas native, has performed with Spotlight on
Opera, The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Austin, and Austin Lyric Opera. In San
Antonio, she performed with the UTSA Lyric Theater, the San Antonio Opera
Guild's Opera in the Schools, the San Pedro Playhouse, and the San Antonio
Opera. Jasmine also performed frequently around Central Texas as a soloist for
various concerts, ceremonies and events. She was seen in Trouble in Tahiti with
Opera Piccola of San Antonio, Speed Dating Tonight! with Texas State Opera
Theater, as a soloist with Capitol Opera Richmond, Classical Revolution RVA's
Mozart Festival, and The Theater Company at Fort Lee's production of Cinderella,
where she portrayed step-sister Joy. While living in Virginia, Mrs. Simmons
founded Old Towne Opera in the city of Petersburg. She also serves as the
organization's Artistic Director. Since moving to Western Massachusetts, Jasmine
has performed in concerts and ceremonies throughout the region and in the
chorus with Panopera's production of Carmen. Mrs. Simmons received her
Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Texas at San
Antonio under the guidance of Dr. Catherine Nix, and her Master of Music in Voice
Performance from Texas State University, under the tutelage of renowned
soprano, Cheryl Parrish. Jasmine currently resides in Westfield with her husband
and young daughter. She maintains an active performance schedule and a private
voice studio, comprised of students of all ages and skill level and in many genres.
